Every year, I see similar pattern of students experiencing sharp drop in their results between Primary 4 and Primary 5 with some students even failing their subjects for the very first time. Without the proper guidance and encouragement, some students lose their self-confidence causing their results to spiral down further at Primary 6. 

 

On the other hand, I have seen many students who managed to recover quickly from this setback and eventually make amazing improvements at Primary 6 and score in the PSLE to qualify for the secondary schools of their dreams - with the right support, guidance and learning strategies and with strong partnership between schools, parents and education centres.

 

My name is Yang Iskandar, Principal of Edufront Learning Centre. Prior to founding Edufront Learning Centre with my wife (Cikgu Hayati), I was an award-winning MOE  teacher and Head of Department (ICT) at Maris Stella High (Primary) School. I specialised in teaching Maths and Science at the Primary 5 and 6 levels.

 

Throughout my teaching career at MOE and at Edufront Learning Centre, I have helped thousands of students from various ability levels make at least two grades improvement in the PSLE and qualify for the highly sought-after secondary/IP/IB schools.
